Banshee (Irish)

Banshees are a type of Sidhe. They are solitary fey believed to be attached to a single family, and when she wails, she is foretelling a death in that family. However, she is not after anyone. She is only mourning that family member.

Also called "the lady of sorrow", banshees are described as being almost human, tall, blood red eyes and wispy gray hair.

Other facts:

Banshees are sometimes said to be attached only to families with "O", "Mc" and "Mac" in front of their names, because these are considered the "best" Irish lines.
